Zachariah, an Old Testament prophet in the Bible, warned us not to despise the day of small things, and not to look down on where we are as an insignificant place. In fact, his perspective reveals to us that our faithfulness, right there at that place, ultimately is the springboard to greatness.
You may be thinking you’re working a little job on second shift, or you’re just in an entry level job, or just now making minimum wage, or maybe you’re picking up the pieces from mistakes that you’ve made in life. For some of you, maybe you’re trying to get a company back on its feet. Wherever you are in your leadership journey, understand this:
Every big thing springs out of a small thing. Manage the small things well and the big opportunities will come to you.
This is a great dilemma leaders must learn to manage, because discouragement sets in as you don’t see yourself making progress, and it also tends to set in when you don’t see yourself making a great impact.
Trying to be faithful when you’re discouraged about the results will reveal to yourself, as well as to others, the real character that’s inside of you. If you can remain consistent, even when you AND those you lead aren’t seeing the results you want, you’ll finally have a breakthrough, and a new level of opportunity will come into your life.

I have been unemployeed for 6 months, after I discovered illiegal loans through the company. I often wondered why my family would have to suffer these losses and how demeaning it is for me being a Director of Operations, doing nothing. This message helped me to stay focused on the big picture, that God is using this time for my benefit, for me to rest assured that my LORD has everything under control. Brother Ron, I have listened to you on several occasions on TBN and your church service. You are an anointed man of God and your insight and revelation on Leadership is incredible. I heard you tonight on TBN talking about how the devil attacks you at your point of anointing and you respond at a lower level because that is how you see yourself, not like God sees us. I am a Sales Director with Mary Kay Cosmetics and have been a little discouraged and that took the lid off of my thinking and totally elevated my thinking.
